Golf specific exercise is a key component in regards to increasing golf clubhead speed, power and distance. Why don’t more golfers do this type of golf training program? Many golfers associate golf specific exercises with exercises used by other athletes involved in more rigorous sporting activities.

For example many golfers look down on golf specific exercises that involve lifting weights. The fear that they will develop muscles which will tend to make them stiff and less flexible in their golf game. Everybody knows that flexibility is very important in golf.

Yet the truth of the matter is that golf specific weight exercises have nothing to do with building muscles like a weight lifter. This is because lighter weights are used and the lifting action is repeated more times. The effect of this is to build strength and not muscles.

Strength in muscles has a remarkable effect on the quality of a golf game, especially when the muscles targeted are all “golf muscles”.

The other wrong image people often have about golf specific exercises is that there are as rigorous and as demanding as the sort of exercises one would find in a marine corps training program.

This cannot be further from the truth, especially when some of the golf specific stretch exercises can be done from the comfort of the office or the home. Some can even be effectively carried out on your chair in the office, without you having to get up from your chair. Stretch exercises are some of the most important and critical golf specific exercises. It is important to warm up before this exercises and also after you game of golf.

Again these warm up exercises need not be as difficult as you probably imagine. It can be simply a brisk walk from your car to the course.

Achieving a good enjoyable game of golf these days has become very difficult without the help of golf specific exercises.

Compression in a golf ball is not particularly well understood. Our natural “more is better” reaction when choosing a golf ball is to pick a ball with a higher compression rating. But what is the right compression for your game?

What is golf ball compression?

The compression of a golf ball is its effective density. It is a measure of how soft or hard the ball is, or, more specifically, how much it will deform under an applied pressure. A low compression ball requires less pressure to deform than a high compression ball.

Range balls can have a low compression as low as 70 and feel soft to hit. Some of the hardest balls manufactured have a compression of 110. Most you will see in general circulation are between 80 and 100 compression.

Remember also that the air temperature can affect how hard the ball feels too. In cold weather, a high compression ball can feel like a rock to hit! In these conditions you may well benefit from switching to a lower compression ball.

Matching compression to swing speed

The compression of a golf ball does not equate to the distance it will go. A high compression ball does not fly further. What makes a ball travel further is the speed it comes off the club face.

When the club strikes the ball, it will significantly compress or deform the ball. The ball then rebounds back to his normal shape and accelerates off the club face. A harder, high compression golf ball takes more energy to compress it at impact i.e. you need a much higher swing speed. So matching your swing speed to the ball compression is important.

For golfers with slower swing speeds, the high compression balls do not benefit them at all. They simply do not generate enough club head speed to compress the ball enough at impact to get the required response. The balls will feel very hard to hit. Golfers with slow swing speed will find they get better overall playability from lower compression balls.

Conversely if you have a high swing speed and are using a low compression ball you will not gain maximum distance as you compress the ball to its maximum with energy to spare. That energy is wasted.

So what you need to do is find a ball with a compression rating most suited to your swing speed

From the tee to the green, if the ball you are using is matched to your game you will play with much more confidence. If you are playing with confidence you will start to score well.

A/B Grade Quality.

History of Golf goes back to the 1300s when a game resembling golf was played with a stick and ball. The origin of golf is a great debate between the Scottish and the English. In England, there is a stained glass window in the Gloucester Cathedral of a man resembling a golfer. This is what the English claim to be their undeniable proof that golfing is a sport that they invented. On the other hand, the Scottish believe that the game of golf was their finding because of the rich history of golf they have contributed.

Golfing is a favorite sport and hobby for millions of people. While played by people from all socioeconomic levels, greens fees, clothing costs, and especially golf club and associated equipment costs have caused golf to be played primarily by the middle and upper economic societal strata.

Without regard for income level, any golfer who owns his or her own equipment needs a secure and convenient way to transport and to store the equipment between golf outings. The pickup truck is ubiquitous in the United States and is often the means used to transport the golfer and the equipment to the golf course.Golf Equipment is quite important.

There is the need of a way for this of to help the new person when buying clubs for golf.A good of combination right the and moves good of choice will equipment arm better you to the become golfer best could you be.Maybe you’ve got all the golf equipment you will ever need, now you need to know what to do with it to improve your game.

There are some great DVDs and books about golf out there to do just that. A new approach to the game of golf or maybe just a little help with your putting. Whatever the case, there is a golf book out there that is right for you. Many dealers of used golf equipment vouch for the quality of the golf equipment they deal in. The dealers procure their merchandise from various clubs and players, who play golf on a professional basis. They also source the used golf equipment from other dealers of used sports equipment.

The quality of the used golf equipment determines the price that they would demand from prospective buyers of the used golf equipment. The problem with high-end golf equipment is that new “innovations” are designed specifically to combat minor flaws in a PGA tour professional’s game. If you’re Phil Mickelson?spinning balls intentionally, slicing them precisely, or hooking ‘em smartly?top-end clubs might help you get over the hump and win your first major.

But if you’re a weekend player, with serious flaws in your swing and far less ball control, you’re better off with less-advanced woods and irons. The highest of high-end clubs are just a waste of money.

We often hear on the course or the range that our swing should be “inside out”. The concept doesn’t necessarily refer to the swing as a whole, but rather to the swing path the club face takes just before and slightly after impact. In this article, we cover the basics of the inside out golf swing path and a few pointers on how to achieve it.

Let’s start by imagining a swing that is “on plane”. During address, imagine a straight line running through the ball in line with the target (our “target line”) and stretching to infinity in both directions. Next, imagine a straight line extending to infinity from both the bottom and top of the club shaft (think of a laser pointer attached to each end of the club shaft).

Throughout the swing, the imaginary lines from the top and bottom of the club shaft should follow along the imaginary target line running in front and back of the ball–except, of course, when the club shaft is parallel to the ground. For example, at the start of the back swing, the imaginary line extending from the bottom of the club shaft follows along the target line running behind the ball. Ensuring these imaginary lines always intersect provides for a swing that is “on plane”.

Back to the “inside out swing path”. As the club face approaches the ball (the bottom of the shaft still pointing to the imaginary target line behind the ball) the hands (should) have dropped closer to the body, keeping the arms connected. When this happens, the club face will be square with the target line at impact yet be traveling on a slightly inside out path (with respect to the target line) just before and after impact. This path provides two advantages:

It requires that the hands have remained low–which means that the arms are more “connected” to the body. Having the arms “connected” allows for a greater transfer of power from the legs and hips to the club head.

As the club face makes impact, the inside out path puts a slight draw on the ball that translates into further distance. The further distance comes from the fact that a draw produces less backspin, a lower trajectory, and occurs when the club face is closed–a point when the club head is at its maximum velocity.

Let’s look at a few tips to help develop an inside out golf swing path:

Keep the swing on plane – This is often easier said than done, but, per above, imagining a laser extending from both ends of the club path that consistently follows the target line running through the ball works wonders.

Practice with a small back swing – Use a small back swing (less than two feet) to practice keeping the hands low just before impact. Remember to keep the hands forward of the club head and the imaginary line extending from the bottom of the shaft pointed to the target line at all times. Doing several repetitions of this drill at the beginning of practice on the range will help develop the proper coordination and muscle memory.

Observe the divot (for irons) – After every iron shot, observe the divot. The divot should show a slight inside out path.

One of the most pleasant events that you can participate in is a golf tournament. It is also one of the most challenging, as a lot goes into the planning of this event that you may not be aware of. With golf being as well-liked as it is, many businesses and charities are using tournaments as a way to spike interest in their cause or in their operation. If you are in charge of planning such a tournament, remember that there are a lot of considerations to keep in mind if you intend it to be a success.

Golf tournaments require a lot of planning. One of the first things you will want to do is come up with a goal or outcome that you desire to come out of pulling off a successful tournament. This can work a number of ways, but one popular way to make this happen is to come up with a theme and gather information to support that theme. Within this theme, make sure that you remain realistic with your expectations and that you stick to your assigned budget as closely as possible.

Once you have a budget, the next step is to find a course. There are several things to keep in mind when choosing a golf course. First, you will want to make sure that it is large enough to accommodate the number of golfers you plan on inviting. Second, you will want to verify that their accommodations are fitting for whatever secular events you are planning in addition to the tournament. This includes an award ceremony, a luncheon, a banquet, etc.

Finally, you will want to confirm that the staff of the course is amiable and you feel that they can work with you. It’s also important to make sure that if the course is unable to provide enough staff for that day, that you are confident that you will be able to find enough volunteers for that day.

The next step is to find some sponsors for your event. They may be able to donate items for an auction, or prize money for the winner. Once you have your sponsors committed to the project you will want to make sure that appropriate signage is made up for the day of the tournament.

Now that you have a purpose, a location, some sponsors and the general outline of the day planned it’s time to send out the invitations. The invites for players and guests can be formal invitations that include the registration forms, or can be informal brochures. Whichever design you go with, make sure that the registration forms are included. Also, don’t forget to include a fax number and a mailing address on the registration form so that they have options in getting the form back to you.

Some final details to consider are, do you want to have goodie bags for players, do you want to have a raffle, is there going to be an award ceremony? If you decide yes to any of those options, allow for the items in your budget and prepare for them ahead of time.

As you prepare for the day of the event, make sure you have farmed out the right tasks to the right people. Think about creating a checklist and get started early so that you can finish up any of the last minute preparations that you will need to make. Ensure that you have snacks, sunscreen, and any other extras so that the players feel welcome. You want to create a positive experience for the players and those small touches add up to a big picture of attentiveness from the host. Have fun, remember the theme, and stick to your game plan so that you can provide the best tournament in the history of tournaments. Confidence is key.

Do you play golf? Or maybe you’d like to play it? If so, then you must want to know some tips on golf. Read on to know of some tips you can use for yourself about the takeaway.

If you don’t know the takeaway, here’s a description: In the takeaway, the club-head is swung right up at that plane angle until the club-head is parallel to the ground. If it is parallel to the ground, then make sure it is also parallel to the target line. When it is parallel to both the ground and the target, it is in direct line with your hands. Once you’ve done this perfectly, your shot should be good and you’ll easily get to ball near the hole. If not, the shot would be a mistake and might be a slice or a hook. You have to practice the takeaway so that you can avoid these mistakes.

Now that you know the takeaway, its time you learn of the tips to easily master the technique. First of all, make a correct golf stance and hold the grip properly. The club head should be just behind the ball and floats a little above ground. Swing the club-head back but don’t focus on the club-head. Instead, think that your arm is being hinged at your shoulder (left shoulder for the right-handed and right shoulder for the left-handed). Then, swing your arm across the body. The arm should stay straight but you can bend it slightly. When the arm reaches this position, the shoulder and body turn should start. Practice this daily while looking at the mirror so you can see if you’re doing your takeaway the right way.

Hopefully these golf swing takeaway tips will help you hit the ball straighter each time you take a shot. Practice as much as you can and your game will just go from strength to strength.

Its unique design made it one of the easiest to hit and most forgiving, and many golfers still prefer this model today. The unique and patented War Bird Soleplate, for which Callaway is now known for, makes it very easy to get the ball airborne both off the tee and from the fairway.

You may think it’s quite simple to choose your golf balls; well they are all the same aren’t they? Well no, this isn’t actually true, golf balls may all look the same and look pretty simple on the outside but each one is made differently with either performance or value in mind.

When hunting for golf balls you need to first sort out which ones are value balls, and which ones are performance golf balls. If you are just starting out you may want to go for the value golf balls first rather than dive straight in to professional balls. With value balls you don’t need to worry too much about losing quite a few as you do for performance golf balls which typically cost three times as much. As you start to get more comfortable playing golf you will start to improve your game and lose less golf balls. You can then start to move on to the more performance based golf balls which can potentially knock a few strokes of your game.

Take a close look at your golf ball dimples. Not all golf balls have the same shaped dimples and this can actually affect the distance and lift your ball experiences. There are a variety of shapes your golf ball dimples can have such as round, triangular or hexagons. Round dimples are the standard for most golf balls but if you want your golf ball to travel a longer distance you can try out a golf ball with hexagon dimples.

The amount of dimples your ball has can also affect what it does in the air. The more dimples your ball has the more backspin you can create and so the higher the ball will go. You may not want to count the dimples by hand of course so do some research on the ball type first. Each golf ball will typically have between 300 and 500 dimples depending on the model.

There are also a variety of other factors to consider about the manufacture of the golf ball such as the core stiffness, cover thickness and stiffness. The cover can affect the velocity and backspin of the ball where as the core can affect the ball’s responsiveness. In fact there are a variety of materials that will be used for different balls that can affect your game in subtle ways.

You may not realise it but even the very colour of the ball can affect your game. White balls are generally cooler as the material reflects all light giving it the white colour. Black balls or other darker coloured balls will absorb most light making the ball and air around it warmer.

Ball position is one of the fundamental aspects of iron play. Placing the ball in the incorrect position can have severe consequences on the outcome of your shots and therefore this is a very important aspect when addressing the ball that you have to get right.

Now the basic rule for ball positioning in your iron play is that the shorter clubs should be played from the center of your stance and the longer clubs further forward in your stance. So if you have a shot that requires a pitching or sand wedge, the ball should be placed in the center of your stance and a lot closer to your body than it would be if you were hitting a three iron.

For a five iron, the ball should be placed one ball’s width in front of center and further away from your body than for a wedge.

Consequently for a three iron the ball should be placed just inside your left heel. Now the reason for the different ball positions is too change the angle of approach of the club head to the ball so that the optimum angle is utilised when hitting the ball.

Therefore when hitting the ball with a wedge the center position of the ball forces you to have a steep angle of approach on the ball. This helps the ball get up faster and higher in the air and imparts more backspin on the ball.

With the ball position on the inside of your left heel with the longer irons your swing path will be more shallow helping you to hit the ball further and straighter. This is one of the keys to solid iron play. I hope this helps.

Features include an attractive flat front, belt loops, front zipper and button closure and five pockets to hold all of your game accessories.

The key shot to improve your score in the golf game is chipping shot. This shot is played when the ball is near to the green. Golfers use this shot to take the ball closer to the hole. Many golfers hit the driving shot better but they won’t be able to execute their chip shot correctly and hence their score remains poor. To sort out any problem in the golf game you need to look at the basic fundamentals of that part. Generally speaking, chipping skills are more or less same as driving skills but there are slight modifications as well.

Most of the novice golfers either hit a thin or fluffed chip shot. Both of these error shots increase your frustration and you perform poorer. Golf chipping stance is the most important factor to consider before going for a chip shot. A chip shot is performed by the muscles of arms and shoulders. A good chipping stance will include your set up, weight distribution and shoulder alignment.

Some of the golf chipping tips that any golfer must remember are as follows:

The first tip to remember before going for a chip shot is try to attain minimum air time and maximum ground time in your shot. Your stance should be slightly ahead of the golf ball. Try to maintain a solid swing by minimizing hand and wrists motion and maximizing the arms and shoulder motion in the stroke.

Start with a short iron and then gradually use other irons as you become confident in one. Also practice uphill and downhill chip shots. Try your pitching wedge if the ball in the long grass. For heavy rough try your sand wedge because it can easily cut through the grass and pop the ball in the air.

For a right hand golfer the entire body weight should be stayed on the left foot during the chip shot.

For a solid chip shot open stance can be very useful so keep your hips and feet open. Also try to make your shoulders parallel to the target line.

One another thing that you must consider for a chip shot is the proper ball position. If you place the ball in line of your sternum or middle of your chest then there will be more chances for a solid contact.

There are many other different golf chipping tips as well but I find the above ones are most useful. A regular practice with the above tips can definitely shave few strokes from your game. So what are you waiting for? Just grab your club and start working on your chipping skills now!

The new FT-Hybrid combines a stainless steel face, sole and body with a lightweight carbon composite crown, allowing Callaway Golf engineers to reposition the resulting discretionary weight to optimize the perimeter weighting and create a high moment of inertia for enhanced stability and forgiveness. Like the FT-3 Driver, the FT-Hybrid also employs the OptiFit System to allow golfers to custom fit their clubs by selecting a center of gravity position that best fits their swing type and shot shape: Draw for players whose misses tend to slice and Neutral for those who lose it to the left. The end result is exceptional distance, performance, accuracy and confidence.

Cabo San Lucas is a great vacation destination. The warm sun, beaches, nightlife, and adventure activities make it ideal for vacationers with a range of interests. There are also multiple Cabo San Lucas golf courses that will make the golfers in your travel party happy. Here is some advice on planning your Cabo San Lucas golf vacation.

Cabo San Lucas has many championship level 18-hole golf courses. As a result, it draws golfers from all over the world, from those who are passionate about the sport to those trying their hand at it. Imagine spending the day in a beautiful setting playing the sport that you love. Cabo San Lucas is a perfect destination if you are traveling with your family or with people who have varied interests. You can split up during the day to pursue your individual interests and then meet up to experience the night life.

First, decide on how many days you will spend at Cabo San Lucas. Since there are so many golf courses, you can easily spend a week there and do nothing but golf. You can play through each course once and revisit the golf courses that you enjoyed the most.

The next step in planning your Cabo San Lucas golf vacation is to figure out if you will be purchasing a package or do all the trip-planning on your own. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages. If you plan your hotel stay and airfare, you can have more flexibility than with a preexisting vacation package in terms of choosing the golf courses you would like to play on. However, purchasing a vacation package can be a real time-saver.

Once you have all the details of your trip planned, there is nothing left to do but count the days to your trip. When you arrive at Cabo San Lucas, all you will need is start the day is your tee time.
